Cologne, December 8, 2006: WA Publishing, Cologne, announced the winners of its Promotional Gift Award on December 1, 2007, for the fifth time. The international communication prize for promotional products is unique and its aim is to promote the courage, innovation and creativity of the promotional products branch. Under the slogan “Create the difference“ the companies had been called upon to enter prize-worthy promotional products or product line concepts into the competition.

The response to the Promotional Gift Award 2007 was better than ever: 291 products (Previous year: 258 products) were submitted in the five categories of the communication prize organised by WA Publishing, Cologne: Give-aways, Premium Gifts, Innovative Products, Communicative Products and Custom-made Designs. 163 companies took part, 40 more than in 2006. The quota of international participants rose from 13% to 16%. Clear trend: The Promotional Gift Award has established itself within the promotional products branch. This year’s CI relaunch also contributed to this success. The new logo speaks a modern, future-oriented language, which corresponds well with the image of the Promotional Gift Award.

The jury comprises of three permanent and four alternating members. The fixed core is made up of: Michael Scherer, publisher and managing partner of WA Publishing GmbH, D-Cologne, Sabine Geldermann, Director of the PSI, D-Düsseldorf and Professor Olaf Leu, Seminar for Corporate Design at the Technical College of Mainz and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Geiger AG, D-Wiesbaden.

A further design expert was represented in the form of Arndt Johannes, managing partner of the advertising agency Vistapark GmbH, D-Wuppertal, whilst Sönke Hinrichs, managing partner of Inspirion GmbH, D-Bremen, inspected the submitted items through the eyes of an importer.
